What instruments do you sell and repair ?

Wombat Woodwind & Brass sells and repairs all woodwind and brass instruments.

Woodwind instruments include piccolos, flutes, clarinets, saxophones, oboes and bassoons.

Brass instruments include cornets, trumpets, trombones, tenor horns, baritone horns, euphoniums and tubas.


Do you sell used instruments ?

Wombat Woodwind & Brass sells quality used instruments.  All used instruments are fully serviced and cleaned, sold with a one year guarantee and a free service after the first year.  The price of each instrument includes the required accessories – case, reeds, reed holder, neckstrap, cleaning materials and oils.

Why should I buy a used instrument from Wombat Woodwind & Brass ?

Wombat Woodwind & Brass offers its customers extra services that only a specialist woodwind and brass shop with an in house repairer can :

Why does my instrument need to be serviced ?

Playing a properly serviced instrument maintains and lifts the standard of play and ensures player confidence.  Just like a car, parts on musical instruments go out of adjustment, no matter how carefully you drive/play.  Playing an instrument that is out of adjustment places greater stress on the player to compensate for the instrument’s failings, reducing player enjoyment and quality of performance.  Therefore maintain your instrument in good working order, by having it serviced every 12-18 months to ensure you continue to both enjoy playing and producing a great sound !


How often do I need to have my instrument serviced ?

Wombat Woodwind & Brass recommends all woodwind and brass instruments be serviced ever 12 – 18 months because playing a properly serviced instrument maintains and lifts the standard of play and ensures player confidence.  Just like a car, parts on musical instruments go out of adjustment, no matter how carefully you drive/play.  Playing an instrument that is out of adjustment places greater stress on the player to compensate for the instrument’s failings, reducing player enjoyment and quality of performance.

The cost of a service depends on many factors, including whether the instrument is a student, intermediate or professional model, the care of the instrument, the material it is made of (i.e. wood, plastic, metal, precious metal) and the age of the instrument.

Wombat Woodwind & Brass accepts cash, cheque, direct deposit. Visa and MasterCard credit card payments.  Credit Card payments can be made in person or over the phone.

Do you offer a lay-by service ?

Wombat Woodwind & Brass offers all customers up to 6 month interest free lay-by service.  Payment terms can be tailored to your needs.
